Our Sister has now been allowed to enter the great feast in heaven to praise God and thank Him for his deeds, Sister M. Norbertis, n\u00e9e Katharina Eggenwirth, Hospital Sister of the Third Order Regular of St. Francis.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Sister M. Norbertis came to our Franciscan Congregation from Neuenkirchen near Wiedenbr\u00fcck. After completing her nursing training at St. Franziskus Hospital in M\u00fcnster, she was assigned to St. Bonifatius Hospital in Leeuwarden, Netherlands. There she became a surgical and anesthesia nurse. She completed her specialized training there in the Dutch language. This language and her love for the Netherlands shaped her well into her old age.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 1975, she returned to Germany, completed her training in outpatient care at Arenberg, and worked at the social service centers in Dortmund-Aplerbeck and B\u00f6sensell. From 2000, she lived at the convent in Stift Tilbeck, but continued to travel to B\u00f6sensell, where she took on responsibilities in the parish and in senior care. In 2015, she became a resident of St. Franziskus-Haus in Nordwalde. There, she was lovingly cared for by the lay sisters and staff until she passed away at the end of her long and fulfilling life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We will remember Sister M. Norbertis’s radiant eyes; her openness to what was happening in the community, the Church, and politics; and her contentment. Most of all, we will remember the gratitude she expressed time and again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We bid farewell to Sister M. Norbert with gratitude. We are united with her in sisterly love, both in our prayers and in the celebration of the Eucharist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at 10.00 a.m., we will celebrate the Resurrection Mass for Sister M. Norbertis at St. Francis House in Nordwalde and then bid her farewell at the parish cemetery, where she will find her final resting place. Afterward, we can share our memories over coffee at St. Franziskus-Haus.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
