From our Polish Province, we received the obituary of Sister M. Benita, n\u00e9e Irena Soll, Hospital Sister of the Third Order Regular of St. Francis.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Sister M. Benita was born on September 7, 1960, in Koty, Opole County. She entered our Congregation on September 10, 1979. She made her first profession on May 4, 1982, in O\u0142drzychowice K\u0142odzkie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After her first profession, Sister M. Benita began her studies at the Nursing School, and from 1984 onward, she worked for three years as a nurse at the Infectious Diseases Clinic in Wroc\u0142aw, in Szczytna, and at the childrens’ home in Rengersdorf. After a brief period of preparation for missionary work, she left for Kazakhstan in the fall of 2009 along with two other Sisters and began her missionary work. She served for nearly eight years at St. Abraham Parish in Shchuchinsk and for the next eight years at Our Lady of Cz\u0119stochowa Parish in Kamyshenka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both in Poland and in Kazakhstan, Sister Benita was devoted to her ministry to the people and children to whom she had been sent. She was creative, kind, deeply committed, always ready to go the extra mile, and attentive to precision in her ministry and work. She faithfully followed the path of her vocation and responded to what God wanted from her. Quietly, with a smile, she willingly served those in need every day. Her missionary work in Kazakhstan brought her great joy and fulfillment. This beautiful time of active apostolic ministry was cut short by illness. Beginning in October 2024, she embarked on a journey of suffering: coping with the new reality of severe physical ailments, disability, and dependence. For a long time, Sister M. Benita communicated with those around her through short messages using a tablet. Toward the end of her life, she could no longer do even that. This was very difficult for her. The Sisters of the Szczepanowice convent, along with the medical staff at the nursing home, cared deeply for Sister M. Benita and supported her on her journey of suffering.           <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the final weeks of her life, Sister M. Benita\u2019s health deteriorated significantly. Yet she was still able to express her gratitude for every act of kindness with a smile. Sister M. Benita peacefully passed away to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 11, 2026. We trust that she is now fully rejoicing in God\u2019s presence and love. Grateful to everyone for every act of kindness, help, and service rendered to her, she commends herself today to our prayers and surely supports us all with her prayers before the Lord.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
