Locations
One of St Francis’ principles has served as a guideline for our Congregation: To go where the need is great and where people crave help, comfort, and perspectives. Consequently, the Sisters who were sent out into the world would not only care for the sick but also build hospitals, clinics, nursing homes and schools. Over time, they gathered like-minded people around them. This is how today’s locations on three continents came into being.
?!English was chosen as the common language of the international Congregation so that all the Sisters can communicate with each other. For many Sisters, this is their third language as is the case for the Vietnamese our South Korean Sisters in the Japan Province, all of whom also study Japanese. Our Indian Sisters’ native tongue may be any one of the 121 Indian languages, with Hindi as their first foreign language.
Here is an overview of the international commitment of our congregation. More information can be found on the local websites.
